Apple iPad 3 Features and Release

The Apple iPad is one of the best-selling tablets in the world, and the iPad 3 is one of the most anticipated devices from Apple this year.

In a nutshell, the Apple iPad3 will feature a new, thinner and sleeker design, down nearly 20 percent in size compared to the iPad 2. It will also support full touchscreen HD display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536.

Apart from that, the iPad 3 will have a lighter battery life, reducing the weight of the tablet. However, the battery is reported to cost 20 to 30 percent more than the current iPad’s battery, which will also have a longer battery life.

It is also expected that the iPad 3 will have a wireless charging technology, which will be able to charge the battery and transfer data wirelessly.

iPad 3 Features :

A6 Processor: A6 is a Quad-core Processor (1.7GHz.), iPad 2 is A5 processor (900MHz dual-core) This would make the iPad 3 as powerful as any high-end desktop

iOS 5: It includes multitasking features, such as notifications, task-finishing, app-switching, location and background sound.

3D Feature and New Retina-Display: the screen resolution of the iPad3 will be 2048 x 1536 pixels

Cloud Computing:iCloud users can store photos, apps, calendars and access songs on iTunes without having them to store in the phone’s memory.

Camera:Unlike the iPad 2, the new tablet will come with LED flash to support the camera. It is expected to have a 5MP camera with 1080p or 720p video recording quality of 60 frames per second.

Finger-Print Proof:The touch screen will be coated with oleophobic materials, which will reduce the oil and fingerprints on the screen.

Release Date:There isn’t any official word from Apple on when the iPad 3 will be released; however, rumors indicate that it will be announced sometime early next year. Reports state the trial production is likely to start this October. One of the major reasons why the launch of the device has delayed is due to the Retina Display technology.

Apple Locks in New CEO Tim Cook Through 2021

Apple’s board of directors last Friday moved to lock in new CEO Tim Cook through 2021 by awarding him 1 million shares of the company’s stock, reports Computerworld. At Friday’s closing price, the shares would be worth over $383 million.
“In connection with Mr. Cook’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer, the Board awarded Mr. Cook 1,000,000 restricted stock units,” Apple said in a filingwith the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Cook, who is 50, will receive half of the 1 million “restricted stock units,” in August 2015 and the second half in August 2021, only if he is still employed by the company at both of those times.
Apple’s SEC filing also noted that former CEO Steve Jobs had resigned, but would continue as an Apple employee; that Jobs was named chairman of the board of directors; and that Cook has been promoted to CEO from chief operating officer.
Cook, who is also a director on the board of Nike, has worked at Apple since 1998.

Apple Television Likely Coming in 2012

Apple is almost certainly working on a digital television based on its iOS operating system, according to multiple sources in Silicon Valley, reports VentureBeat. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, for instance, says that Apple will make an actual TV–not just a set top box–in  late 2012 or early 2013 and cites component suppliers and an internal Apple source, to back up his prediction.
Venture capitalist Stewart Alsop, of Alsop Louie Ventures, follows the hardware industry closely and told VentureBeat he has heard from multiple Silicon Valley sources that the Apple television project is underway. He says the only thing holding Apple back is the cost of LCD screens, although prices have been dropping steadily.
VentureBeat also says The Wall Street Journal and Cult of Mac have hinted at a TV in Apple’s future and even includes former Apple CEO Steve Jobs as a contributor to the rumor because of some comments he made last year regarding Apple integrating its technology into TV sets.
Currently the AppleTV set-top box provides access to movies and TV from iTunes as well as other online video content. But experts say iOS will enable Apple to transform the television into something that doesn’t just show videos, but also plays games, runs apps, lets you check your calendar, use social media, as well as tie into other Apple devices–giving the company a well-rounded consumer product line.

iPhone 5 Assembly Reportedly Begins

Apple manufacturers have begun assembling the iPhone 5 in preparation for an October launch, it has been claimed.

According to Macotakara, a Chinese source has reported that Foxconn and Pegatron have begun assembling the iPhone 5 in preparation for an early October launch in the US and a late October launch for Asia. Timescales for other territories are not mentioned.

The report also claims that the units, once assembled, are not being boxed up. This is because Apple is not ready to install iOS 5 on them yet, so presumably this will happen at a later date.

Lost iPhone 5 prototype and other rurmors

We heard back in early August that Apple hard ordered 10 million iPhone 5s from Pegatron and that the company would begin shipping them to Apple in September, which fits in with the latest reports. A photograph taken at a plant belonging to Wintek in mid-August was claimed to show an iPhone 5 production line.

Components for the iPhone 5 went into production in July , Digitimes reported, and since then there have been several mystery components that could be for the iPhone 5 or perhaps an iPhone 4Sspotted in circulation.

APPLE IS RICHER THAN THE US GOVERNMENT

According to a recent report by the Financial Post, Apple has more cash than the U.S government. Apple reported the quarterly earnings of US$ 75.876 billion till the 25th of June 2011 . The U.S government reported total operating balance of US$ 73.768 billion on Thursday , which is lesser than Apple.

Apple has seen tremendous growth since they introduced their first iPhone in the year of 2007. According to the recent report from IDC, Apple still holds the 4th place, based on the worldwide mobile phone shipments in Q2 2011 and the shipments have increased 141.8% when compared to Q2 2010.

These figures are not directly comparable, since the U.S government’s balance amount is the amount of money they can spend before they hit the debts and the Apple’s earnings are the revenues from the sales. Based on the market capitalization, Apple is the second largest company in the world after Exxon Mobil.
